12. Alexandre Pato

I have always been intrigued with the Alexandre Pato rumors. So much of what he is is what Arsene Wenger usually gravitates towards. He was once a premium talent with all the hype in the world. Injuries derailed his career. Now he is playing for Brazilian side Corinthians.

Talent never leaves a player. It can be hindered by injuries and misuse, but it doesn’t just leave. Pato still has that mass of talent that Arsenal saw at AC Milan. He is still only 26 years old and has plenty of future to look forward to. It is becoming increasingly apparent that he needs a bigger stage, like he once had.

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

It has been confirmed by Edu, who now resides with Corinthians, that Arsene Wenger has been in contact with the Brazilians about Pato and his potential availability (as quoted by the Independent).

“I had lunch with Arsene Wenger and he asked about [Pato] and about others,” he confirmed.

Pato won the UEFA Golden Boy award in 2009 and it would make for a fantastic story to continue his still-blossoming career at Arsenal. The Gunners have Olivier Giroud already but with major question marks always surrounding Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck, another wild card is not the worst option.

Moving on to number 11, we talk about another striker that’s worth keeping an eye on.
