Arsenal Can Sign Alexandre Lacazette If They Want Him
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal should probably be in the market for another attacking threat seeing as how most of there attack has gone stale. Alexandre Lacazette is most certainly available.
Think about Arsenal’s attack. On paper, it has so many varieties that it seems impossible to lose. You have the girth of Olivier Giroud up front, the imagination of Alexis on the left, Danny Welbeck wherever he can be fit and Mesut Ozil filtering the ball to all of the above.

But when that goes stale, the options are incredibly limited. Theo Walcott, who is as ineffective as (insert clever analogy), the Ox, who is hurt again and as inconsistent as (insert another clever analogy) and Joel Campbell, who, while good, it severely out of favor.
With Welbeck still rocking out the training wheels while trying to secure the No. 9 role, Arsenal still find themselves rather barren for options up front.
Enter Alexandre Lacazette.
The French attacker has been at Lyon for quite some time and it has come high time that someone buys into the Lyon way and just purchases him. Jean-Michel Aulas has done this sort of thing before. He says his players are not for sale to drive up the price and then he accepts the highest bidder.

The exact same thing happened with Michael Essien. “He’s not for sale,” and then sold. It usually happens within a year.
Luckily, Lacazette has been “not for sale” for nearly eight months now. He will be available this summer and he will move, so long as some team out there procures more cash than Lacazette is valued at at Lyon. Rather fortunately, Lacazette’s monetary value has to have been driven down by his inability to follow up on his breakout campaign (which is why he wasn’t sold last summer).
That is how it works at Lyon ever since Aulas took over. He will sell anyone so long as the price is above market value. He also already has a replacement lined up in Nabil Fekir, so the bases are all covered at Lyon. All Arsenal have to do it offer a sum of money.
I know, not as easy as it sounds.
But Lacazette does have quite a few things going for him. While it has not been the dynamic follow-up year to his Ligue 1 golden boot last year, he still has a solid ten goals in 24 appearances. However, much like Danny Welbeck, it will not be his goal returns that appeal the most.
Lacazette can play anywhere in the attack. Given Arsenal’s reluctance to spend, solving the depth issue at striker and on the wings in one fell swoop makes so much sense that Wenger himself has even considered it. He is French after all.

If Arsenal’s season goes south and no one is able to stir this massive pot of talent, help has to be on the way. Lacazette is someone we know is available and someone that is fairly proven as well.
