Arsenal: Isco Transfer Dismissal Actually Positive Turn
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal are still managing to cling to their link to Isco. Now, despite his seeming transfer dismissal, the move is on more than ever.
Arsenal‘s link to Isco has always been massively speculative, given he plays the one position that the Gunner’s really don’t necessarily need. However, he does have the versatility to shift out wide and deputize for Ozil, which certainly increases the plausibility of him coming over to North London.

In light of his ever-shrinking playing time at Real Madrid, where once he was so happy, a move seems absolutely believable. He held on with Zidane came to town because of his respect for Zidane, but seeing James Rodriguez take over the spot that he thought would be his, a move is the only alternative.
No new manager is going to ride in on a stallion to save the day. That’s not how life works.
That being said, a move in January might seem like the best option. Get out as soon as possible. Any time spent on the bench is time wasted. He’s 24 years old, he needs to be playing. It’s that simple. Especially with how much talent he clearly has.
Isco had already played down a winter move just over a week ago, but now his father has reinforced that. “We have decided to maintain a low profile with the press. But I can assure you that we will not be considering any offer until next summer,” he said, as quoted by the Metro.
That settles it then. Arsenal will not be landing Isco in the winter.

Which is actually a fantastic sign, for those of us that want to see Isco in North London. Wenger is not one to make major signings in January and Isco would be a major signing. Something about introducing a new luxury player in the middle of a season and the acclimation it would take just doesn’t jive with Wenger.
Fair play to him.
By ruling out a winter move, Isco has eliminated everyone else’s interest. All the clubs that do make big moves in January. And there would have been suitors – Tottenham for instance. Arsenal are probably the only interested party that can hear Isco’s statements and be perfectly fine with it. They were always going to wait until the summer anyway.

Isco can happen and, depending on who stays and who goes this summer, should happen. The availability is there, the price is not out of this world and the talent is undoubtedly there.
