Arsenal aren’t exactly in a bad place, but they could seriously use a lift and that responsibility could fall to who else but Danny Welbeck.

Arsenal has absolutely zero reason to panic. They are within three points of the top of the table, they have qualified for the round of 16 in the Champions League and they have a lot of guys in good form. Getting bounced out of the EFL Cup, even in the fashion that it happened, is not the end of the world.

The fact that Santi Cazorla is out for another three months though, is a bit closer to the end of the world. The Gunner’s have become so subconsciously reliant on him that the offense feels disconnected without him.

But they can cope. They have so many midfield options, it’s just a matter of finding the closest thing they can to Cazorla. And if that can’t be found in the club, we have to have faith in Arsene Wenger to do the right thing and potentially buy someone in January.

Again, no reason to panic. But it’s understandable that there is a bit of sullen spirits around North London. Cazorla’s out and now more than ever this offense has been looking skiddish. A little pick-me-up would be an alright thing at this juncture.

Luckily, we may have that in Danny Welbeck. Welbz has been out since last spring and was supposed to be out until 2017 but now he is back in training and eyeing up a return by the end of 2016.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Which is in like… a month.

That is something we can look forward to. All these woes from out wide will be resolved when Welbeck returns. We won’t have to diddle between Iwobi and the Ox to find a legitimate threat and we won’t have to wonder why Walcott can’t be consistent. Ever.

Instead, we can focus on Welbeck, who is a regular stallion. He is unbelievably athletic and has an added aerial presence that could massively come in handy.

Plus there’s that fire. If there is one thing that adds to the sullen spirits of the supporters, it’s seeing the sullen spirits of Alexis and Ozil as they throw up their hands in frustration against any given opponent.

A nice lift from our passionate Englishman could make all the difference. And how appropriate would it be if it was Danny Welbeck who sparked the fire that pushed Arsenal that extra step?
