Arsenal: Riechedly Bazoer Can Still Be Capitalized On
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal may have missed out on Reichedly Bazoer, but his arrival at Wolfsburg leads us to a necessary path to land Julian Draxler.
Arsenal are all about bringing kids up from the system. Let the academy churn out some talented young athletes so that we don’t have to stress about Wenger and his questionable ability to spend money on necessary resources.

Prior to this summer, Wenger had been keying in on young talent to bolster a dwindling youth system. Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Krystian Bielik, Donyell Malen and Kelechi Nwakli highlighted a powerful wonderkid class to augment an established class of guys like Dan Crowley who, well, may be sliding off the radar.
But that initiative to bring in talented young players has seemingly gone cold as all of the links are turning up fruitless.
One young man in particular would have been quite the rejuvenation, Riechedly Bazoer, but as he has landed with Wolfsburg, we have to look forward to the next step and realize that, while Bazoer is a massive opportunity missed, it does open the door for another potential move.
Bazoer was 20 years old and he has the world at his feet, but let’s not forget that Julian Draxler is just 23, requires even less assembly than the Dutchman would have required, and while he may not be necessarily needed, he would provide a nice deal of padding while holding us over until that aforementioned youth movement can cover our arses.

It really does suck that we missed out on Bazoer, because I truly believe that this, as his first big move, is the cheapest he will ever be moved. After this he will come into his own and will become an absolute monster.
So let’s turn this unfortunate missed opportunity into a fantastic capitalization. Bazoer’s arrival solidifies what we already knew – Julian Draxler is leaving. Even if the chatter about Ozil wanting Draxler to solidify his contract isn’t true, we can be sure that bringing in Draxler would in fact make Ozil happy.
That’s a big deal, keeping him healthy. So we can still use Bazoer to our advantage, even though he will be suiting up in lime green instead of red and white. Use his arrival at Wolfsburg to solidify that we can bolster our midfield and attacking crop in one fell swoop.
