Arsenal: Danny Welbeck Sitting In Messiah Seat Yet Again
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal head into Chelsea despondent from a poor loss but, if given the chance, Danny Welbeck will find himself in the Messiah seat yet again.
Arsenal has this amazing knack for getting our hopes up before falling flat. Some of us still fall for it. Myself included. Some of us sit here and think it isn’t over just yet. Myself included.

Watford knew exactly what they had to do. They were facing a slow, steady Gunner’s attack. All they had to do was be bigger. And they were. They were physically imposing and stuffed our every advance.
Olivier Giroud found himself with little to do. Put up against a huge defense, he didn’t stand much of a chance. That was so apparent from the onset that even I was calling for his removal. So that’s when you know it’s bad.
Anyway, Arsenal now sit nine points behind Chelsea, meaning they can get it to six if they go into Stamford Bridge and win. It’s not likely at all, but that never stopped Leicester.
And speaking of Leicester, it was around this time last year that the Gunners faced off against the would-be champs needing points to narrow the margin. They did it, thanks in no small part to Danny Welbeck, who rose to the messiah status pretty quick. We were ready to get behind the Englishman and let him lead us to glory.
But he got hurt and the Gunners flailed and came in second.

Going into Chelsea about the same time that we welcomed Leicester City, we will again be looking to Danny Welbeck. This attack can get so stale at times and aside from Lucas, Arsenal really don’t have any secret weapons. There is no one they can turn to and hope that the surprise factor dominates.
That’s when you need truly prolific players to step up and Welbeck can be that guy – again.
Seeing Giroud fall flat against Watford, I have to believe a change is in store. Plus, with Welbeck not even on the bench, it’s clear he was being saved. Unleash him against Chelsea and let the Blues deal with his combination of strength and pace.
I don’t think they will be able to.

And, unlike last season, he won’t get hurt, the Gunners will get behind him and win all the remaining fixtures and just like that, we win the Premier League title. All because Danny Welbeck started against Chelsea.
