Arsenal is in full-on crisis, and for real this time. Alexis Sanchez is becoming a problem and this whole falling-out is breeding nuclear side effects.

Arsenal’s loss at the hands of Liverpool was just the culmination of the falling out that probably started longer ago than we think. It was the tip of the iceberg. And more details are now coming out, as supposedly Alexis Sanchez had a major fall out with his team mates in training mid week, a training he ended up leaving early.

Alexis isn’t going anywhere until the summer transfer window opens up. So we now have to figure out a way to mitigate the damage, because the side affects are going to be pretty obvious to predict and they are going to be pesky.

The questions are building up. Mainly, who steps up? Do we revert to square one, before we had Alexis? Arsene Wenger won’t change a formation or a tactic, so what are we at? Do we still rely on Alexis knowing almost for certain that he is leaving? Do we try to lean on someone else? A Danny Welbeck or a Lucas? All of this will be addressed in the summer, obviously, but it’s still troublesome now.

Alexis did something when he came to Arsenal. He brought an injection of needed individuality. Having that player who can turn the tide of a game is huge. Yes, it’s a team game, but when the team is mentally weak and fragile like Arsenal, sometimes you just need a hero.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

We will obviously still have Alexis and he is a determined lad, so I don’t think this stuff is going to be that prevalent right away. But behind the scenes, we might start seeing an already mentally weak team weaken even more.

I worry about Mesut Ozil, for instance. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain too, as he is finally starting to find some good form.

There is just no way this ends well unless Alexis can find a way past this little hissy-fit he’s having. And even if he does, chances are he is still leaving and we will have to find someone that can be the hero in the summer.

With Arsene Wenger at the help, I doubt our ability to do that.

We don’t know what lead to the fallout from Alexis, but the results are going to be exactly what you would expect from a nuclear fallout. Now we just have to rebuild.
