With the summer transfer window looming, Arsenal face a massive overhaul. Signing Naby Keita should be a priority target.

We all can agree on one thing this summer: A major overhaul is absolutely imperative for Arsenal. Not just to improve the “talent” and depth we already possess, but it’s inevitable that rival teams (Chelsea, Man United, etc) will splash as well.

We cannot afford to fall behind. Obviously signings need to be made in almost every position, but signing this one player can almost immediately impact our whole midfield situation positively this season. This player is none other than Naby Keita.

If you do not know this name by now, I highly suggest you watch a few clips of this player right now (or the video below) because I can guarantee that he will be a future star. Keita is currently 22 years old and plays for the German side RB Leipzig, who have shocked the Bundesliga and have qualified for the Champions League next season as well. Keita has been a huge part of their success, which is why he is a major target for bigger clubs this summer.

Nonetheless, signing Keita should be a priority for Arsenal this season. Without further ado, let’s ask and answer some questions regarding Keita and Arsenal!

Is Keita gonna be affordable?

Considering the fact that Naby Keita is being linked to Chelsea and Liverpool, as reported by The Sun, for only £25 million, of course he is going to be affordable. We were able to sign both Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi for over £30 million each. There is absolutely no reason why Arsenal shouldn’t pounce on this opportunity and sign Keita before our rivals do.

Will he fit in the 3-4-3 system?

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Although it isn’t guaranteed, I will say Arsene Wenger is the manager next season (only because we don’t know his replacement/system). The 3-4-3 has been working so far (with the exception of one game) and Keita can become a perfect fit within this system. You may ask, why? As I mentioned earlier, signing Keita can impact our midfield immediately and positively. Keita can play all center mid positions, whether it be CDM, CM, and even CAM! Talk about versatility! He most definitely can fit the 3-4-3 system playing as either a CM or up top providing help with the attack.

How is Keita performing at RB Leipzig?

Honestly, if I was told at the beginning of the season that Leipzig would qualify for the Champions League and at one point lead the Bundesliga, I would laugh at you. But my oh my have Leipzig proved me wrong. Keita has definitely been one of Leipzig’s most crucial players. Through 27 Bundesliga appearances this season, Keita has contributed eight goals and seven assists! This is very impressive for a player on a team that has risen out of nowhere. He certainly has been producing well and we need that same contribution here.

Is Keita worth the hype?

This really should not be a question, but I will address it anyways. Yes, Keita is definitely worth the hype he is receiving. You can compare Keita to Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and we all know how good Kante has been in his first season with them.

Naby Keita should be our most important priority this summer transfer window. He can come in and positively improve our team, especially the midfield core. Arsenal cannot let a player of Keita’s age (22) and talent slip through to teams such as Chelsea or Liverpool. Keita is absolutely a necessity to our team and if we do not jump to sign him this summer, it will be something that we will regret for a long, long time.
