Arsenal vs Southampton live stream: Watch EPL online
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal has to win out to have any hopes for a Champions League place, but fifth place awaits at St. Mary’s. Here are all the ways to watch.
That crucial game in hand that Arsenal has been saving up for weeks will finally come in handy as the Gunners will seek to leapfrog Jose Mourinho’s Europa Cup contenders and land in fifth place. From there, they will only need dropped points from either Liverpool or Manchester City, as well as winning out themselves, and the most unlikely of Champions League qualifications will be achieved.
But first comes Southampton. A team known for it’s ability to form a defensive shell and frustrate the socks off of any side out there will be hosting the Gunners in this crucial fixture, with the Saints hoping to use their game in hand to vault to an inconsequential 8th place.
The Gunners just played Sunday and suffered several knocks to the team, as Granit Xhaka suffered another knock to the same ankle and Laurent Koscielny also found himself a bit gimpy post-match.

While Xhaka appears to be a go (thankfully), Laurent Koscielny remains a question mark, which could prompt the return of Shkodran Mustafi to the starting XI, as the Gunners will have to shore up defensively to deal with a Saints attack that has more talent than it seems. Between Mario Gabbiadini and Sofiane Boufal, they have a lot of pop, it’s just a matter of keeping them pinned down for the full 90.
Everyone will be wondering when Alexis Sanchez will snap out of his funk. The energetic Chilean hasn’t quite fallen into the flow of this new and exciting 3-4-3, as he keeps on trying the same old antics, as if beating his head on a wall. He’s had trouble getting anything going, but in his stead, the resurgence of Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has claimed the spotlight, more than compensating for the Chileans lack of impact.
Mesut Ozil will be hoping to build off of his performance against United as well, as he was a positive influence for the first time in recent memory. He flowed the the attack and showcased some strong worth ethic.
Other than that, expect the Gunners to keep knocking on a sturdy Saints door, hoping to break it down sooner rather than later. And here is all you need to know:
