Arsenal: Time not on Gunners side with Alexandre Lacazette
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal seemed to make a major breakthrough with Alexandre Lacazette, but each day that goes by with silence is one day closer to tragedy.
I don’t know if I would even call it a breakthrough, though. All that happened is that, for once, we received some hard core proof that Arsenal and Lyon were in talks over the future of Alexandre Lacazette and his potential move to North London.

Giving us that little tidbit of knowledge was enough to set off the entire world. All of a sudden everyone was tuned into the Lacazette chase because it felt like, if the Gunners had come that far, then it was only a little bit farther to go before he could be announced as the second signing of the season.
It’s been a couple days now, and it’s turned all quiet on the Lacazette front. I’m not trying to hint that we need to panic. All I’m saying is, the longer this goes without a definite resolution, the less likely the signing becomes.
Plain and simple, it looked like Arsene Wenger had the upper hand, but as we know full well, there will be other teams coming around. PSG and Liverpool have both shown interest in the Frenchman’s services, so the need is there to get it done as soon as humanly possible.

Not just that, but as Jean-Michel Aulas, owner of Lyon, pointed out, if nothing comes of this, all his club has to do is wait until January 2018, when Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban runs up, and cash in for the price they want.
Make no mistake about it, Lacazette is the best option out there for the price we can pay for him. It’s a value buy that can become the lynchpin for this Gunners attack, which has needed a striker like him for so long.
Again, don’t panic. The transfer window hasn’t even officially opened yet, although apparently no one told Manchester City that. There is time to lock this deal down in the next two months. It would just be nice if we didn’t have to sit by and watch as we take it down to the wire, hoping to death that Wenger comes through.

Plus, the sooner we get Lacazette, the sooner we can turn to Thomas Lemar. And then it’s a party.
