Arsenal: Alexandre Lacazette not a secret for much longer
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal’s signing of Alexandre Lacazette is being downplayed massively, but let’s just say he is a well-kept secret that won’t be kept for much longer.
Arsenal broke a club record when they signed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon. For three years we had been hearing about how this deal was so close to completion and while I will always wonder why it couldn’t happen sooner, the important thing is that he is here now.

However, some people aren’t impressed. Numerous publications out there have downplayed the signing as not enough and questioned why the Gunners can’t get a real, world class striker they really need.
This is what Arsene Wenger lives for. He may have wanted to spend a bit less on Lacazette, but even with how much he did spend, it looks and sounds like the 26-year-old is still a well-kept secret.
Perhaps this is because he comes from Ligue 1 and not the big, bad La Liga like Alvaro Morata, or perhaps it’s just because he plays for Arsenal, who are off to a sub-par start. Or, perhaps it’s because he sits behind Olivier Giroud in the international pecking order, which can’t be good for one’s perceived value.
Either way, this isn’t a secret that will be kept long.
In case you haven’t noticed, Lacazette scores confidently. Very confidently. And he still has plenty of room to improve and score more. Especially considering he hasn’t even played alongside Alexis Sanchez yet.

And if you needed to hear it from more than just me, take it from internationally-renowned midfield enforcer N’Golo Kante (as quoted by the Metro):
"“I think maybe in England, you don’t know him very well but he has started to score. In France, he was a very good goalscorer who scored for many, many years and he will be a threat for Sunday’s game. We have to be ready to stop him but the most important thing is the team and we need to win.”"
Kante said it perfectly. In England, you may not know him yet. But you will. You can sit here and say he is certainly no Sergio Aguero or he’s certainly no Gabriel Jesus, but you just wait. Lacazette is a goal scorer. He always has been.
You can expect 20 goals out of Lacazette. Even in his inaugural year with the Gunners. And you should feel 100% confident of that tally, with upside for more.
