Arsenal: Alexandre Lacazette “goal” coincides with every Gooner alive
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is proving himself to be the consummate professional, both in word and deed. His self-proclaimed “goal” is every Gooner’s dream.
Arsenal has been dying for a player of the mental and physical fortitude of Alexandre Lacazette. Now with four goals in five starts with the Gunners, the Frenchman is proving to be the striker that we’ve dreamed of on the pitch.

And off the pitch, he is doing just as much. He has been saying everything that Gooner’s want to hear since he arrived. He has played down his own personal achievements, including the record of scoring a goal in each of his first three home games with the club, and has talked up the prospects of the club and the academy.
But his latest revelation should have supporters tickled yet again, and tickled more than ever before. Tell us, Lacazette (as quoted by the Daily Star):
"I was told about the record. It is no big deal. It is not the kind of record I am looking for. I am not especially looking for records. I am looking for stability with the team and this evening was better and better. We won with a clean sheet so all the better for everyone."
It’s like “Where’s Waldo” – can you find what I’m speaking of?
“I am looking for stability” is the answer. If you picked that phrase too, give yourself a gold star. Stability. How long have we as supporters waited for the club to be stable again? That is all we have wanted.

Year after year the Gunners shoot to the top of the table, drop to mid table, claw to the top four and show no conceivable signs of consistency. Brilliance offsets complete ineptitude and it’s impossible to get a beat on who this club is and what they are capable of.
Players like Alexis Sanchez have highlighted how much talent there is here and then gone on to moan about how they lack so much.
But Lacazette wants what we want, and he is starting with the basics. He isn’t yammering on about his desire to win the treble in his first year. The first step, the first goal, is to find some stability.
Seriously, this guy rocks. It’s like he is a lifelong supporter in the body of an elite striker. Someone who feels our struggles with the ability to actually do something about it.
