Arsenal are just now welcoming Jack Wilshere back to full health, and already the media is trying to make everyone believe that something else is wrong.

Arsenal has long awaited the full and uninhibited health of Jack Wilshere and they may finally be approaching that, as Wilshere himself has admitted that he has never been healthier. Arsene Wenger has sung his praises too, saying that his first team chances will come in the next few weeks.

Then there was Jack Wilshere singing the praises of Arsenal, admitting his love and how he has always wanted to be here. And those are all direct quotes, stuff you can actually look at and understand for yourself.

But that isn’t enough for some. Now there is a “report” from the Times circulating that Wilshere is considering a January exit. Their source? “A source close to the player.”

There are few things I hate worse than unfounded sources. It happens in the transfer market all the time, reports of players wanting moves because they are unhappy and nothing to back that up. Anyone can make a claim and say that they “have a source” and as long as it is somewhat believable, people will go along with it.

But this new Wilshere rubbish is completely not believable and it’s quite literally embarrassing. Wilshere and Wenger have just been incredibly open about their positions on his return and all signs point to a return to a prominent role.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Not just that, but with Wenger showing more willingness to change things up, even with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil around, there is even more reason for optimism that Wilshere’s time will come very soon.

Compounding on that is the potential January exits of numerous players, from Ozil and Alexis to Theo Walcott. All of whom are far more likely to leave the club than Wilshere, who has nothing but the world to gain if he stays.

Wilshere has always been an Arsenal man and the crux of the reasoning for this absurd claim that he wants to leave is that he is prioritizing his national career over his Arsenal career. But why now? Why not the numerous other times that was an option?

Gareth Southgate is already considering calling Wilshere up to the national team, this we know because the Three Lions are as appetizing to watch as a soggy piece of bread. Something has to change and with Wilshere at full health, even if he hasn’t integrated into the Gunner’s system 100%, he is always going to be in the plans.
