Arsenal’s midfield is highly questionable, but if one thing has been working, it’s Aaron Ramsey. So, that brief scare where we thought he was hurt? Not needed.

It would have been so Arsenal to be hit with another international break injury – and a crucial one at that. Shkodran Mustafi was lost this time out and it looked as though Aaron Ramsey would be lost this time around, as he was left out of the build-up to the friendly against Panama, despite featuring against France.

The immediate reports were that it was an injury and that our beloved Welshman would be out for the North London Derby. The fevered sweats immediately kicked in. Without Ramsey, who the hell could we rely on?

It would be Sead Kolasinac vs the World. And while I’d still bet on Kolasinac in that hypothetical throwing down of the fisticuffs, we don’t have to worry about it anymore. Because Ramsey is safe and sound.

According to Chris Coleman, who has had his spats with Arsene Wenger in the past, they figured that since Ramsey had been worked so much for Arsenal, that it was best for him to only participate in one of the international friendlies.

Wales, of course, narrowly missed out on World Cup qualification, so there was nothing in these friendlies other than pride, but still, I want to high-five the Welsh manager for this decision, because it means that against Spurs, we will have our best attacking player on the pitch.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

In the process of the fevered dreams and dry-heaving that followed the initial reports of “Injury!” it hit me that our attack is incredibly unreliable as is, and that Ramsey truly has been in fantastic form with his three goals and three assists, which are good for second and first on the team, respectively.

Our two detrimental superstars have been inconsistent at best, Granit Xhaka has been a wild card and Arsene Wenger has put a leash on Alexandre Lacazette and tied him to a safe place, where the big bad Premier League can’t hurt him.

Ramsey or bust. Which is scary because of his injury history and the fact that he is literally the only attacker that I have found reliable this year. But it’s also good because seriously, who is better than Super Rambo? Not many. And right now, we have him.

It’s nervy going into any North London Derby, but the more people you can rely on to do their part of the job, the more confident you can be. Which means there may not be a lot of confidence going around, but hey, at least be confident in Ramsey.
