Arsenal have a few immediate pressing needs that need addressing, but moving forward with the likes of Yacine Adli is what this is all about.

Yes, Arsenal have a few immediate openings that need filling. Namely in the midfield and on the wings. The defensive back line may not have needed that many changes, but if you follow the rumors, it’s all the change that this braintrust can focus on.

Still, there are bigger needs here at the club, and it comes in the form of building up for a brighter future and perhaps nicking some talented young stars away from their current regime in order to give them the opportunity they deserve.

That’s what has me gung-ho over Caglar Soyuncu and that is what has me chomping at the bit to see Sven Mislintat work his magic and bring us some unknowns that will be superstars immediately (thinking realistically).

But in the meantime, I will happily allow Unai Emery to prey on his former club’s inability to turn their talented youth products into anything more than wantaway youngsters. Because that is what is driving the likes of Yacine Adli in the arms of the nurturing Arsenal.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

According to numerous sources, Adli is prepared to shun PSG, Bayern Munich and the big clubs out there in order to take his chances at more relevance in the present day, which he can find far easier at the Emirates than at the other options that wanted him.

Based on scouting reports, he shares a lot in common with long-time Arsenal target Adrien Rabiot, which includes but is not limited to his hair style and his disenchantment with the PSG youth philosophy, or lack their of.

Just 17-years-old, he’s a suave midfielder, confident on the ball and capable of dictating the flow of play. he has already made headway into the French youth international side, as well as splashing the PSG first team, and a bigger stage may not be as far off as it seems for someone so young.

It makes complete sense, then, why Emery would go back and dip for him first. If there was a belief there, between these two, that he deserves more and that shared belief translates into an opportunity at Arsenal, then what’s the drawback?

Answer: There is none.
