Arsenal have landed Lucas Torreira, yet there are conflicting reports trying to stir up trouble. Use common sense, though, and you’ll find your answers.

Here we are again, with more reports out there claiming that Arsenal’s sealed deal of Lucas Torreira is not entirely true.

Fair, it’s not entirely true, because Torreira is not in a situation where he can announce a move, as he is in the World Cup and, by his own claim, focusing on his time at the World Cup, as any good professional should be doing.

Apparently, to some, this is the perfect situation to feast on and drum up unnecessary drama about how the deal could still go awry. This isn’t the first time this sort of thing has been brought up either.

Something about not have made the deal official apparently means that it isn’t done at all. Anytime there is silence, there are going to be people there saying that the deal could still go wrong.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Technically, yes, the deal could still go wrong if something were to derail massively. Maybe if Barcelona sweep in with a bid twice what the Gunners are planning on paying for the guy, but is that actually going to happen? No.

Torreira is sold, according to Sampdoria’s president. He is sold for the exact amount that this club was going to pay for him. Does that make him a Gunner? Not exactly, no. But it means that as soon as Torreira’s World Cup campaign is over, he will be.

Because that’s how things work. When a deal is agreed upon and it’s made clear that it’s been agreed upon, the deal will be done at the first possible opportunity. I’d actually be concerned if Torreira was off interrupting Uruguay’s exciting World Cup run to make time to announce his new club. That would be unprofessional.

Don’t let the rumors get to you. Use your common sense. The sale has been announced by the Sampdoria president. The only thing that remains to be done is Torreira to be removed from the international spotlight.
