4. January fix or summer purchase for the Danny Welbeck problem?

Danny Welbeck is out injured again and by all signs, looks to have played his last match in an Arsenal shirt.

Personally, the silver lining in this rather ugly situation is Eddie Nketiah’s extended first team involvement. But the issue that Emery and Co. need to face is whether Nketiah is enough to fill in for Welbeck till the end of the season.

Rumours surrounding Lille’s Nicolas Pepe have been doing the rounds and he is just one of the mooted targets. The January window is almost always more inflated when compared to the summer, meaning this club will have to pay big to get its transfer target(s).

With only 12 senior appearances under his belt so far, 25-30 appearances this season could be a real acid test for Nketiah.
