4. We need a manager

I love Freddie Ljungberg. We all do. But the problem is that with such an inexperienced manager, we’re essentially just letting the players fend for themselves. I didn’t have much of an issue with the starting XI that Ljungberg put out there, but I’m a bit confused why he thought he could take the same approach against Manchester City as he did against West Ham.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

That said, he was clearly involved in the match, conversing with his captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to try to sort things out. And his substitutions were pretty astute. Namely getting Ozil off as early as he did.

That bounceback from Unai Emery’s firing never came, and at this point, it won’t come until we appoint someone. If we can get Max Allegri now, get him. If we can get Mikel Arteta now, get him. It’s not an ideal situation, and I’m glad the club is putting in their due diligence to ensure they get the right person, but if it can go any quicker than it is, it has to, because this is not a situation we want to have to deal with anymore.

The hectic holiday season is likely going to be Freddie’s last stand unless something can turn around, but that doesn’t look likely to happen. Best get this done sooner rather than later.

Moving on to No. 3.
