Midfield

More questions coming up. With a base two and a No. 10 to fill, Mikel Arteta has a ton of options to consider. Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos and Mesut Ozil filled the triangle against Newcastle, while Matteo Guendouzi was held out due to disciplinary issues. That leaves Joe Willock and Lucas Torreira to choose from, and I have to imagine that Arteta will indeed choose them.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Willock will be most likely to start at the No. 10 position, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ozil getting another nod there as well. But for now, let’s say Willock.

Behind him is where things get interesting. I would like to believe that Matteo Guendouzi will be back in there, but I’m actually of the mind that he will end up on the bench and be an early substitute.

That means that Lucas Torreira will slide into the base of that midfield, and frankly, I’m feeling a repeat appearance from Dani Ceballos. You gotta play the hot foot, and Arteta can do that here, giving Ceballos another chance to run the show.

Finally, the attack.
