Defense

There are some options here, but mainly just in regards to leftback, since Arteta has made his stance incredibly clear on certain players.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Sead Kolasinac is back from injury and was available against Olympiakos, but Bukayo Saka has been so good that I can’t see Arteta taking any other route than starting Saka yet again. Even as the youngster seeks to move up to winger, which is available to him, if Arteta wanted it. But he probably doesn’t. Because again, this is just working so well. Especially with Granit Xhaka slipping into that left pocket role.

On the other side, since Ainsley Maitland-Niles has disappeared from favor, there’s no question that Hector Bellerin will start. He’s been in great form and I’m always excited to see what he can do.

Lastly, in the middle of the defense we’ll see the suddenly dynamic duo of two guys who used to be considered defensive clowns mere months ago. But since then, Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz have settled into a fantastic defensive scenario and are proving to be immensely useful, keeping three clean sheets in a row.

We can make that four right here.

On to the midfield.
