1. Youth!

It used to be that when I spoke about youth, I’d have to say we just gotta wait another two or three years to see that youth blossom. We’d be talking about guys showcasing in the U23s, or out on loan somewhere or another.

Not the case anymore. Between Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, we have two guys that are ready for regular Premier League action right now. I know this because they are thriving with regular Premier League action right now.

But those two are just the tip of the iceberg. We also have guys like Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Matteo Guendouzi who still rank in as youngsters, and who just need more exposure. Then there’s Emile Smith Rowe, who’s earning plaudits over at Huddersfield.

These are all the youth we have to be excited about and we haven’t even dipped into the actual youth outfit, with more of our exciting young options.

This team is getting younger and better, and that’s also not something we have to wait for, because it’s already happening. It’s in motion now. So yeah, this year has been a success.
