Juventus to Offer Adrien Rabiot & Douglas Costa in Hector Bellerin Swap Deal

At present, Andrea Pirlo boasts only Danilo as a natural right-back in his squad. The Brazilian, who was part of a play-plus-cash deal with Manchester City for Joao Cancelo, has also been deployed in numerous other roles throughout the season.

His versatility has seen Juan Cuadrado play in the position, one he’s been a regular in for the past two seasons having switched from playing as a wide forward.

Therefore the addition of a right-back is high on their list of priorities, making Bellerin a prime target.

Along with the rest of Europe, and exacerbated by their astronomical outlay for Cristiano Ronaldo each week, a swap deal suits the club best in order to avoid mass expenditure. Due to that, TuttoJuve claim that Juventus will offer one of Adrien Rabiot or Douglas Costa in exchange.

Neither would be welcome in north London.

Costa is not the profile that Arsenal need. If the decision was made last summer to bring Costa in and not sign Willian, then there could be some logic given his vast European experience – he’s also two years younger than his countryman – but this would be the most Jose Mourinho style move imaginable and nothing like the Gunners want or need as they begin their rebuild.

Currently on loan at Bayern Munich, he will return to Turin and likely be sold, just not to Arsenal. Five years ago, maybe.

As for Rabiot, this is someone Arsenal shouldn’t touch with a barge pole. Not only is he a well-documented bad egg, he has no standout abilities or endearing qualities. A good age? Yes. Decent pedigree having played for PSG and Juventus? Yes. Playing in a position Arsenal are short on quality in? Yes.

Which all adds up to no. His decision-making on and off the ball can be infuriating, and while the odd decent spell of form may come about, it never amounts to any meaningful contribution. Very average.

Either one for Bellerin? Crazy talk.
