Midfielders

RCM – Thomas Partey

It’s often a case of “if he’s fit, he’ll start” with the Ghanaian international. He’s been excellent in dominating the midfield and breaking the press of late, and after his ridiculous assist for Alexandre Lacazette at the weekend, he’ll be raring to go.

LCM – Granit Xhaka

Possibly the only man who can usurp Bernd Leno’s job of “biggest shoo-in to start a given match.” He’ll be key to whatever tactics Arteta has planned, as usual, and will hopefully combine well with Partey, as he is wont to do.

CAM – Bukayo Saka

Having initially predicted the Norwegian will return in time to face Slavia, the latest updates revealed that Bukayo Saka has been passed fit. You’d think he’ll assume his regular right-winger slot, but after a fine display against Sheffield United he may come back into the No. 10 where he can pick up the right half-spaces that Odegaard would normally occupy.

Not his natural position or one he’s experienced in (at least against top opposition) there is little doubt he won’t interchange with the forward players and probably spend most of his time roaming.
