Forwards

RW – Nicolas Pepe

Given how well he changed the game in his brief cameo last Thursday, including scoring the go-ahead goal with a deft, purposeful finish, he deserves to start. Frankly, his creative capacities are too great to sit on the bench, as is his ability to finish chances. He will likely have the lion’s share of duties falling to creation this midweek, but I’m excited to watch him isolate the Slavia backline.

ST –  Alexandre Lacazette

Redemption is near for the Frenchman. He responded to his critics with a brace against Sheffield United, and when he gets it in his mind that he’s bound to score, Lacazette is nearly unstoppable. Having just entered Arsenal’s top-10 list of Premier League scorers, it’s an auspicious time for a continued uptick in form.

LW – Emile Smith Rowe

Despite a bruised ankle, the Arsenal medical team both confirmed that Gabriel Martinelli is fit to play and given the amount of energy he brings to the side, it will be almost impossible to count him out. That, of course, being before Smith Rowe was passed fit.

Next. Pepe too good for bench. dark

Again it will be strange to move the 20-year-old out wide with Saka centrally, but the pair will be in constant flow, exchanging passes and positions and adding technical security in the forward line.
