Loan deals are not what Arsenal want either coming in this season or heading out. Permanent transfers are the ideal. However, down in the academy it’s different and a temporary move for Tyreece John-Jules is the best step to aid his development.

A slow start to the summer transfer window is causing some unrest among supporters who are steadying themselves for what is felt to be an inevitable scramble for a No. 10 on deadline day.

Only Nuno Tavares has been signed with Albert Sambi Lokonga just behind him, yet down in the academy there are a whole host of players who will have no problem sealing their own summer transfers.

Up to nine of the Under-23’s are available for loan moves after impressing with the youth setups and being deemed ready for regular first team football.

Arsenal to make loan decision on Hale End striker as Tyreece John-Jules is set for temporary transfer to League One or Championship side

Tyreece John-Jules has been in that category only to be beset with unfortunate injuries that have hampered his development. First joining Lincoln City in January 2020, the striker scored in his second appearance only for a groin injury to cut short his spell away and rule him out for the season. He returned to Arsenal in March.

Recovering later that year he moved to Doncaster Rovers in September where he grabbed a goal and an assist in his first four League One outings. This time a thigh injury cut short his form as he missed eight matches.

Two goals and an assist in his first three matches back signalled a fresh start but new muscle injuries once again cut his spell in the team short before he returned for the final five matches of the campaign.

Yet again he found the back of the net with two goals and an assist and as per James Benge Arsenal are now mulling over numerous suitors to take John-Jules on loan this summer.

First team football is the priority for Arsenal and the 20-year-old who desperately needs an unhindered season of football under his belt.

Another League One club looks likely despite Championship interest, as given how high the stakes are in the second tier the commitment to playing someone week-in week-out is tough to come by. This was evident with Eddie Nketiah’s loan to Leeds.

Both of his former loan sides preside in League One and it would be surprising if they weren’t active once more. What could be proposed is six months in the third division before jumping up to the Championship, although with regular football being the target, should he impress as expected then staying put for a campaign will do him good.

dark. Next. Willian embarrassment

A really exciting centre-forward who is willing to do the dirty work, is a strong finisher and can link play well, it’s a big season for John-Jules if he manages to stay fit.
