The international break has so far brought mixed feelings for Arsenal players: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Gabon will not make it out of their World Cup qualifying group, Thomas Partey’s Ghana have it all to do, while Emile Smith Rowe made his senior England bow.

That should be the focus, right? Think again.

This break in Premier League football is all about transfers! Obviously. What else could possibly be taking place in November that would be of any more interest than occasions such as those mentioned?

Dejan Kulusevski appears to be one person who is aiming to take the spotlight away, albeit unintentionally.

Arsenal ‘destined’ to make €30m transfer signing of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus as Swedish forward is heavily linked with Serie A departure

Juventus’ forward has been heavily linked with a move away from Turin in recent weeks as he struggles to break into Massimiliano Allegri’s team, with just two appearances in the 11 starting lineups selected so far in Serie A.

A whole host of players have been tipped for a move to north London ahead of the upcoming winter window and the Swede has been listed as someone the Gunners have made an inquiry about. All the speculation up until this point hasn’t been concrete, and with midfield and striker the two areas of the squad in most need of reinforcing over the next two transfer windows, a versatile winger seems like an odd use of funds.

There are big question marks over Nicolas Pepe’s future at Arsenal as the Ivorian continues to sit on the peripheries of the squad, and as a left-footed winger playing out on the right, if there is any strength to the rumours then Kulusevski’s potential arrival could spell the end of Pepe’s time with the club.

At the end of the season he will have only two years left to run on his deal, and sitting among the top earners at the club it’s unlikely a new contract will be handed to someone who has blown hot and freezing cold throughout his Gunners career.

Adding more fuel to these Kulusevski fires is Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni. He states that in I Bianconeri’s aspirations of landing Dusan Vlahovic they are willing to include the 21-year-old in the deal, a move Fiorentina are not keen on as they would rather avoid strengthening Juventus once again in the transfer market.

I Viola sold Federico Chiesa to Juve on an initial two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy just last October.

This is where Arsenal come in, with Bucchioni confidently claiming that Kulusevski is ‘destined’ to join Arteta’ side ‘for about €30m’, with Tottenham also keen on the Sweden international.

From the player’s perspective the prospect of moving to the Premier League over slipping down the Serie A table will surely be more enticing. Boasting bags of potential that needs to be realised with a strong run of games on the right wing, it does appear as if a move away from Juventus is somewhat inevitable, even as early as January.

Next. We need Wenger back. dark

Does this mean he’s ‘destined’ for Arsenal? Most certainly not. What the growing reports do suggest, however, is that there is some interest there and if more concrete sources were to follow suit, and not just those in Italy, then this is a move to keep track of.
