Arsenal set to complete another loan move in January

It’s been a busy month for Arsenal Football Club. A very busy month. The buzz of new signings has permeated the air, but it’s been departures that have been most prevalent.

Well, not most prevalent, as so far it’s been nothing but moves elsewhere.

The senior squad has seen no fewer than five players move on, two of those being permanent, with Sead Kolasinac having his contract terminated and Calum Chambers sealing a move to Aston Villa on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Pablo Mari, Folarin Balogun and Ainsley Maitland-Niles have all moved on in loan deals, a trend that has continued within the academy as a host of players are making moves elsewhere.

Some of those have been in and around the first recently on account of Mikel Arteta’s heavily depleted squad, with goalkeeper Karl Hein, who was on the bench in the Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool, since joining Reading on loan.

Another player in the squad for that game, and also on the bench in the 0-0 draw with Burnley, was right-back Ryan Alebiousu. The 20-year-old nearly joined League One side Sunderland on loan last summer, only for the move broke down in the closing stages of the window.

Instead he’s been a key figure in Kevin Betsy’s Under-23 side, featuring predominately as a right wing-back in the 3-4-3 system, where he’s notched five assists and a goal in ten outings.

Arsenal may be battling for the title this season, but as per Football Insider, Alebiousu is set for an entirely different challenge as he edges closer to a loan move to Crewe Alexandria until the end of the campaign.

The Alex find themselves down in 22nd position in League One, six points from safety with 19 matches left of the season to play.

"“Obviously, there’s still a lot to improve on,” Alebiousu told the Arsenal website recently. “But I feel like my confidence is so much higher and I’m involved in play more than ever before, and that’s backed up by my assist numbers too. Even when training with the first team I feel more confident, so it’s been good to see that progress and now I only want to keep it going.”"

Fellow Hale Ender Tyreece John-Jules recently completed his own loan move to the third tier as he joined Darren Moore’s Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season, with the pair set to face off against each other on April 18.

Miguel Azeez is among those also expected to find a temporary move before deadline day.
