Arsenal have another break on their hands before they’re back in action at home to Brentford, but that hasn’t stopped transfer talk coming to light outside of either window.

As the team stood firm to a late Wolves onslaught at Molineux to maintain their 11th clean sheet in the last 19 Premier League matches, Aaron Ramsdale understandably got a mention for his involvement.

There was one save in particular that stood out, although on this occasion one can argue that the collective defensive resilience was the key to success. It’s nonetheless been an incredible season from the 23-year-old, who has never looked back since dislodging Bernd Leno in net.

The German will leave in the summer and fresh competition will be coming in to rival Ramsdale and, at last, the inevitable signing of Matt Turner was confirmed by New England Revolution.

Arsenal’s Matt Turner summer transfer signing confirmed ahead of £7.5m move from New England Revolution at the end of the season

A move that was near enough confirmed over the January transfer window without any official confirmation from either team, the deal has finally been revealed by Bruce Arena’s side, for a fee thought to be in the region of £7.5m with add-ons.

"“The New England Revolution have agreed to terms for goalkeeper Matt Turner to join Arsenal of the English Premier League in a summer transfer for an undisclosed fee pending completion of a medical,” a statement on the club’s website read.“Turner, the 2021 Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, is expected to join Arsenal in late June 2022, allowing the United States international to remain with New England through the entirety of the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League campaign and nearly half of the 2022 MLS regular season. Further information will be shared when the transfer is completed.”"

Ramsdale’s new backup/competition will link up with his new teammates for pre-season, his first ever taste of European football, having been a standout name in MLS since bursting onto the scene as an undrafted player.

Turner is the USMNT’s first-choice goalkeeper – ahead of Man City’s Zach Steffen – and has kept 11 clean sheets in 16 games since making his international debut last February.

The 27-year-old also won the CONCACAF Gold Cup Golden Glove Award in the USMNT’s triumphant victory last summer, while he Turner was also named the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021.
