3. Would You Take a Draw?

If anyone asks you this question, any answer other than a no is met with scorn. Quite rightly so. This fixture is all about winning. It’s all about superiority, bragging rights, and glory.

But, deep down, if someone came up and offered a draw, would you take it?

Winning this fixture should only ever be the target. It’s the North London Derby and settling for anything other than three points is unacceptable. But then you factor in how Arsenal are missing Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey, as well as potentially Bukayo Saka and Benjamin White and…indeed.

It would be oh-so sweet to not only win there but also consign them to a Europa League place and then properly celebrate in the corner of the stadium. All the while knowing that the future of this club is looking up with Champions League football and all the bells and whistles that come with that heading to the red half of north London.

However, 2014 was the last time Arsenal won away from home, Kane and Son always score, and the sheer dread of this fixture in every single second of the match makes you constantly fear defeat. A draw would mean Arsenal need just one win from Newcastle away and Everton at home to clinch fourth spot – unless Tottenham drop points against Burnley and Norwich, which they won’t.

You can’t take a draw in this game. This means everything and the euphoria of beating them would be elevated to new heights given what is at stake.
