Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus is a priority target of Arsenal’s this summer, but the Gunners are facing increased competition for the Brazilian’s signature.

The Gunners will add a striker to their ranks before the 2022/23 season gets underway, but Eddie Nketiah’s impending contract extension means that just one extra addition is necessary to Mikel Arteta’s forward options.

Arsenal have been linked with a heap of expensive profiles, but many reports suggest that the club are honing in on City’s Jesus, who recently helped the Cityzens to their fourth Premier League title under Pep Guardiola.

Many expect Jesus to leave the Etihad this summer in favour of regular first-team minutes elsewhere, something that Arsenal can guarantee. However, the Gunners aren’t the only club chasing the versatile forward.

Arsenal are still very much confident about signing Jesus this summer, but the increasing competition for the player’s signature is starting to make some supporters nervous.

Tottenham’s interest in the Brazilian seems to have cooled, but Jesus’ agent, Marcelo Pettinati, said last month that up to six clubs were in the race for his client this summer.

Real Madrid are understood to be keen on signing the Manchester City forward after missing out on Kylian Mbappe, while The Athletic writes that Chelsea have entered the fray. They add that the club would have a serious fight on its hands if a competitor was to emerge in the next two weeks.

90min understand that Italian champions AC Milan, whom Jesus supported growing up, are the latest club to show interest in the 25-year-old.

The Brazilian will decide on his future soon, likely when he returns from international duty with the Seleção, and 90min add that City still want to secure Jesus to a new contract. So the player could yet remain in Manchester despite having seemingly half of Europe on his tail.
