Sambi Lokonga (CM) – 5/10 – Covered well without the ball but made a couple of unforced errors in possession, one of which was costly as Nurnberg broke to score their second.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (CM) – 5.5/10 – Drifted out to the right to combine with Bellerin and Pepe but was largely uninfluential.

Emile Smith Rowe (CM) – 6/10 – Arsenal’s brightest attacking spark in the opening period. Took up some good positions to receive possession and he came close to opening the scoring with a fierce curling effort. A loose touch did lead to Nurnberg’s opener, however.
