Arsenal has been highly active in the transfer market this summer, bringing in Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner, Marquinhos, and Oleksandr Zinchenko, but Mikel Arteta has hinted there may be more on the way.

This summer was a huge one for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal. After narrowly missing out on a top four spot last season due to a lack of squad depth and quality, this summer window needed to be perfect.

So far, it has been.

Needing a quality forward, the Gunners signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. The team needed a backup to Kieran Tierney, who has become injury-plagued, so Oleksandr Zinchenko was signed to much fanfare.

The return of William Saliba feels like a new signing as he has hit the ground running and cemented his spot in the centre of defence.

One area of the squad that has not received bolstering is the midfield. The Gunners have been linked with Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans for what feels like forever, but no bid has been forthcoming.

With several players moving out of the club, such as Bernd Leno (Fulham) and Folarin Balogun (Reims) with Lucas Torreira and Pablo Mari poised to join them; the club is not done in the market just yet, according to the manager.

The Gunners boss spoke to the media in his press conference ahead of the Premier League season opener against Crystal Palace. Arteta said that the team’s transfer business is not done just yet.

"“We are really active as you can see with ins and outs,” Arteta said via Goal.com. “Everything is still open it’s a long window. It’s incredible how much business the club has already done. It’s not gonna stop.”"

The boss’ comments will surely make Arsenal fans confident that perhaps one or two more signings are on the way.

But given that the Gunners have already splashed the cash so far and are potentially not done yet, the Arsenal board has emptied their pockets this summer.

Will the Gunners sign more players before the transfer window slams shut? By the sounds of it, Arteta wants more reinforcements.
