Arsenal vs Tottenham preview: How to watch the North London Derby on TV, team news & prediction
Congratulations. You’ve done it. You made it through the final international break before the World Cup and your ‘reward’ is a North London Derby at Saturday lunchtime.
These two foes meet for the first time this season as top-of-the-table Arsenal host a wily Tottenham at the Emirates.
The Gunners produced their most impressive performance of the campaign thus far away at Brentford last time out, and Mikel Arteta will be confident of beating Antonio Conte for the first time in his career on Saturday. Arsenal have impressed almost everybody at the start of the new season, but Spurs, who have perhaps been less convincing, are right on their tail in the Premier League table.
There’s certainly more to come from Conte’s side, yet they’re still unbeaten through seven league games.
However, there hasn’t been an away victor in this fixture (in the Premier League) since 2014, and an electric Emirates atmosphere is poised to make life difficult for the visitors.

Arsenal Team News
The Gunners are hopeful that Thomas Partey will be fit enough to start the derby despite his minor knee problem. Sambi Lokonga will come in for the Ghanaian if he doesn’t pass a late fitness test, however.
Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are both doubts, but Reiss Nelson could return to the matchday squad for the first time in almost two months.
Martin Odegaard should come back into the starting XI in place of Fabio Vieira, while it’s unlikely that any changes will be made to the front three.
Tottenham Team News
Hugo Lloris pulled out of the France squad due to injury but an update hasn’t been provided regarding his status for Saturday’s game. If he isn’t fit to start, Fraser Forster will deputise for the Spurs skipper.
Spurs supporters are clamouring for Conte to switch to a 3-5-2 and bring Yves Bissouma into the midfield, but it’s unlikely for the Italian to make the change for this encounter. Thus, the 3-4-3 should be retained and Dejan Kulusevski or Richarlison will join Son Heung-min and Harry Kane in the front three.
Cristian Romero will come in for Davinson Sanchez, while Clement Lenglet will retain his place at left centre-back with Ben Davies out injured.

Prediction
This is poised to be a chess match between two managers that set about winning football matches in different ways. Spurs are more aggressive and progressive than they’re credited for, but the Gunners can pin the visitors back and dominate the contest from minute one.
The hosts must be wary of the elite transition threat that Conte’s side possess, and the quality of Spurs’ attack means this will be the toughest test of the season so far for this impressive Arsenal defence. Hopefully, they learned plenty from the defeat at Old Trafford.
This is a high-quality match-up and it’s hard to split these two sides, but considering how dominant the home side has been in this fixture as of late, it’s tough to go against the Gunners on Saturday.
Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham
