3 standout Arsenal players from dominant win away at Chelsea
By Krish Ajmani
Arsenal have started the season well, to say the least.
Their only loss in the league has come at the hands of Manchester United, with their only draw against Southampton. They have strung together not just points but eye-catching performances to merit those points. Yet one place they had yet to prove themselves was at a tough away ground.
The London club faltered at Old Trafford and Southampton and barely nicked a win against Leeds. Against Chelsea, however, Arsenal dominated from the first minute until the last. The attacking prowess was on full display as the Gunners carved open Chelsea time and time again.

Very rarely has such a controlling display away from home been seen. Three players, in particular, were crucial to Arsenal walking away from a quieted Stamford Bridge with three points which restored their place at the top of the table.
3. Gabriel Jesus
Questions have been raised in recent weeks regarding Gabriel Jesus’ form. The new signing has not scored since the win against Sp*rs on 1 October. However, despite his lack of goals, Jesus’ form should never have been doubted. The Brazilian’s influence on games extends far beyond his mere goalscoring prowess While his mini-drought continues, against Chelsea, he showed exactly how well-rounded his game is.
Leading the press from the front, the Brazilian harassed and harried the Chelsea backline, setting the tone from the off. He did not give them a second to breathe as he forced them into multiple errors. The fluidity he has brought into the attacking setup was also on display. He interchanged frequently with Gabriel Martinelli, drifting wide before bursting back into the box to add an unpredictable element which will again bear fruit sooner rather than later.
Jesus’ ability to win fouls was instrumental in maintaining pressure from goal kicks and offside calls. His close control and body positioning allow him to always have the upper hand, forcing the opposition to foul him or let him turn and run at them. Chelsea’s physical and often clumsy approach saw them carry out the latter, letting Arsenal camp themselves in the opposition’s half for most of the game.
While he will be disappointed with the headed chance he missed, Arsenal would have been hard-pressed to get the result without him. Hopefully, he can get an all-important, confidence-boosting goal against Wolves this weekend.
