2. Eddie Nketiah leading the line isn’t as big of a downgrade as was thought

I think all Arsenal fans were worried when Gabriel Jesus was injured in Qatar during the World Cup. The Brazilian has become such an integral part of the Arsenal attack since his arrival from Manchester City – his loss meant that Nketiah had big boots to fill. He did that perfectly today.

Nketiah’s holdup play was crucial. He was impactful when going forward and offered Arsenal everything that was needed. It was another match where more and more fans should feel comforted that he can do just as well as Jesus.

On another day he could have had two. Lloris denied him from point-blank range to keep the score line from becoming embarrassing for the hosts. These are the performances that we need to see if Arsenal are going to ride this run until the end.
