April started well for the Gunners with a 4-1 demolition of Leeds at the Emirates. However, the month presents a litany of challenges with an all-important five-game schedule beginning with a trip to Anfield on Sunday.

The fixture list also includes the likes of West Ham, the relegation-battling Southampton, the chaotic Chelsea, and the reigning champions Manchester City.

Here are three reasons why Arsenal fans should not be worried about the upcoming month.

1. Liverpool are not the same; neither are Arsenal

In previous years, even last season, going to Anfield was a terribly daunting task for Arsenal.

In the All or Nothing documentary, fans saw Arteta speak of the horror stories of “being lost in the game” which caused him to bring wired speakers into the training ground to emulate the harsh atmosphere.

However, this year’s Liverpool team only resembles the Premier League-winning side in name. Jurgen Klopp has been unable to spark that heavy metal football back into action and Liverpool currently sit eighth in the table with ten games remaining. Arteta, on the other hand, has also fielded a different side compared to previous years but has propelled Arsenal to new heights.

The Gunners have an electric Swiss army knife luxury up front. Leandro Trossard can play in all three positions, Gabriel Martinelli can play as a 9 or on the left, and of course, Bukayo Saka is unstoppable on that right wing. In regards to the latter, Saka finally received some rest, starting on the bench against Leeds, and should therefore be fresh to go to Anfield.

While the stadium is still a footballing fortress, the Gunners have had no better chance of beating the Reds at their home ground since their last win inside 90 minutes which occurred in 2012.

This Liverpool team are not the same, and neither are the Gunners. Once the young Premier League leaders blow by this challenge, the resulting confidence will reach an all-time high. Manchester City will be praying that their great contemporary rivals secure a much-needed victory for their title hopes.
