3. Just cut out individual errors

It is perhaps easier said than done, but simply exercising more care in possession will go a long way towards helping Arsenal upset the odds.

From a poor Takehiro Tomiyasu back pass in the reverse fixture to the penalties conceded at Anfield and the London Stadium in recent weeks, the Gunners often give a good account of themselves on the pitch and match up well with their opponents from a tactical perspective, only to be undone by unforced individual mistakes.

Although this recurring theme is of scant consolation to supporters, it indicates major structural or personnel reform is unnecessary and arguably unwise ahead of our biggest game of the season. Arteta’s tactical know-how consistently offers the team their best chance of success in any given match, and our priority should only be to keep basic errors to a minimum.

Previous clashes with Man City in the league and FA Cup went against us, but the performances suggested we are capable of competing with them and do not need to enact wholesale changes to get the win.
