Another season is all but in the books, and what a campaign it’s been for Mikel Arteta’s Gunners.

Arsenal have exceeded expectations and some this season, although a prevailing sense of disappointment currently seeps through the fanbase given the strong position they found themselves in at the top of the Premier League table.

A stuttering conclusion akin to 2021/22 means no silverware will be heading to the Emirates, but 2022/23 nonetheless feels like a watershed season in Arteta’s Arsenal project. The Gunners are back in the big time.

The club took a giant leap forward, and thus, a huge summer beckons. If Arsenal are to once again challenge Manchester City for the title, they’ve got to nail their upcoming transfer window. The Gunners have been linked with several big names at priority positions of need, but they’ll have to offload some of their talent to facilitate the mini-rebuild many supporters desire this summer.

A whole host of current first-teamers are set to depart at the end of the season, including Rob Holding. However, in this list, we’re focusing on the players that may well be playing their last game for the club on Sunday. Holding, for example, isn’t expected to earn any minutes against Wolves.

1. Kieran Tierney

Tierney is simply too good to not be earning regular Premier League starts. Arteta has been reluctant to use the Scot this season, even when Oleksandr Zinchenko has been absent. Last weekend, the Spaniard deployed Jakub Kiwior at left-back over Tierney.

The former Celtic defender’s issues when drifting inside mean it’s unlikely he has a future in north London. He simply cannot do what Arteta now desires of his left-back. He’s no Zinchenko, not even close.

As a result. Tierney is poised to move on this summer with several Premier League clubs boasting an interest. Newcastle appear the most likely destination at this stage, but watch out for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, also.

Tierney needs to get back to bombing up and down the touchline.
