2. Leandro Trossard

One goal, many assists and all for the bargain price of £27m: Leandro Trossard has ticked every box since his January switch.

Swift integration was a little unexpected after reports emerged that the Belgian star had shown a “poor attitude” in training and fallen out with Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi – trademarks which have recently spelt the end of some high-profile Arsenal careers.

However, assurances from his assistant and former Genk coach ‘AirPod Albert’ convinced Arteta to strike a deal with the Seagulls, and 11 goal contributions in 20 games (including a historic display against Fulham) suggest it was a good decision.

1. Oleksandr Zinchenko

Zinchenko made a huge impact in his first year at Arsenal. Just ask Kieran Tierney.

Called upon somewhat infrequently by Guardiola, the 26-year-old quickly established himself as first choice in north London and soon became a fan favourite. His role as an inverted fullback has afforded the team greater control in possession and he can execute sublime passes between the lines to open up our attack, all while showing an incredible passion that epitomises the restored fan/squad connection.

He may “not be a leader” for some, but Zinchenko performs consistently well in Arsenal colours and we will hope for more of the same next season.
