Folarin Balogun returns to Arsenal after a successful loan spell with Reims, but with his future up in the air in north London, what should the club do?

One of the most intriguing storylines of the preseason will be to see what Arsenal and Mikel Arteta do with Folarin Balogun.

With the young striker coming off a superb loan spell in Ligue 1 with Reims that saw him net 21 goals in 37 appearances, Balogun returns to Arsenal with his future uncertain.

CBS Sports has reported that Serie A giants Inter Milan might be about to offer €40m for his services, and if such an offer comes to fruition, what will the club do?

For many, Balogun is the better “striker” when being compared to Eddie Nketiah, and he has the goals on the board that prove it. While no one can diminish what Eddie did for the club last season in Gabriel Jesus’ absence, is it worth seeing what Balogun can do in this Arsenal team?

He has already stated he wants first-team football, and while he will be behind Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order, with Arsenal fighting on four fronts next season that includes a return to the Champions League, Balogun will get multiple chances to prove his worth.

Is he willing to be a bit-part player in a team that is on the rise and harbors the ambition to overtake Manchester City in the Premier League? Time will tell.

But if Inter or another Premier League club does come calling with such a fee, it might to too hard to turn down, especially seeing as those funds could be used for the next lot of incomings this summer.

While Balogun has shown his talents in France, many want to see that replicated in the Premier League for Arsenal, but such is the current situation for the club, it might be necessary to sell while his price is at an all-time high.

What the club does will make for interesting viewing over the next few weeks, but if he does remain in north London, then Balogun will surely show the rest of the world just how good he can be under Arteta.
