Can Arsenal move to the top of the Premier League table, and claim an history victory in the process? Saturday's result at the Etihad was a second successive defeat for Manchester City, meaning they remain level on points with the Gunners, with victors Brighton now just two points behind.
Thus, even a draw would see Mikel Arteta's team leapfrog the Sky Blues, ahead of their impending enormous points deduction, but all 3,052 Gooners heading to Merseyside want only one thing; a first win at Anfield in 14 years. For Arsenal to beat in-form Liverpool, here are three players they need to shine.
Eberechi Eze

With Bukayo Saka out injured, it will be Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze who start out-wide. Whether or not that is a quality enough forward line to beat Andoni Iraola's team... well time will tell. We could have focussed in on Madueke, but he has shown signs of improving in recent weeks. most notably lashing in the late winner at Nottingham Forest, admittedly via a deflection.
Eze on the other hand really needs to prove he belongs in this team. The 28 year old has scored against LOSC Lille and Bayern Munich in the Champions League, the latter a calm finish, having been played in-behind by Martin Ødegaard.
This is the sort of space Eze is rarely afforded in Premier League matches, although surely will be on Sunday, considering Liverpool's intense style of play. With Christos Tzolis fit again, expected to be on the bench, it is really now or never for Eze.
Bruno Guimarães

When Bruno Guimarães arrived from Newcastle, the club paying £65 million for a 28 year old, it was envisaged that he would make an impact straight away. That though has not been the case thus far, partially due to injury in fairness.
The Brazilian has scored two vital goals, namely his thunderous strike at the Stadium of Light, as well as the winner against Leeds. However, he is yet to deliver on a consistent basis, and one could certainly argue that Arsenal look stronger with Myles Lewis-Skelly in the team. So, in a big game against a top-class midfield, Guimarães and partner Declan Rice need to come to the fore.
Kai Havertz

Much of the focus following Arsenal's EFL Cup exit against Fleetwood was on their forward line, and the fact Arsenal lack a clinical edge. Kai Havertz has very much become the face of this debate, considering he had seven shots without scoring at Highbury, missing two Opta-defined big chances.
Earlier in the season, the German appeared to be back to his dazzling best, heading home in the Community Shield, before being the star of the show against Chelsea. However, since suffering a muscle injury at the Johan Cruijff Arena on international duty, he has not quite been the same.
Nevertheless, as will always be the case in a big game, Arteta will opt for Havertz instead of Viktor Gyökeres, so now is the time for him to silence his critics.
