It feels a little premature to be talking about Arsenal exits just sayd before their Champions League final with PSG, but there is a reality that next season's squad will not have space for all of the current players.
In some cases, we already have clear indications over who could leave the club, and none clearer than striker Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian has been much-adored at the Emirates Stadium over the years, but the level of the squad has moved past him at this stage, and he is finding regular starts hard to come by.
An exit is now likely to allow him to be a starter elsewhere, given he is in the prime years of his career, and ESPN have reported that he would like to stay in the Premier League, despite obvious interest from Brazil. Here, we take a look at the three best landing spots for the striker from worst to best.
3. Newcastle United
Newcastle seem like a potential landing spot, given they will be fighting to get back into Europe and likely to need high-end, experienced talent next season after a very disappointing campaign.
It's an ambitious project and somewhere Jesus can get a good salary, but they are number three on this list because of the presence of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa. It's not obvious where Jesus would fit in given the presence of those two players, but there is still potential for it to work.
2. Brighton
A better option for Jesus in terms of play time may be Brighton, which can also offer European football next season in the form of the Conference League. It's unclear how much tread Danny Welbeck has on his tyres, even if he is still doing very well, and while Georginio Rutter is a very good player, the Seagulls can certainly provide a home for a player like Jesus.
That experience of European football could be invaluable, while the Brazilian is also an experienced Premier League goalscorer. Jesus could play regular football on the South coast while also playing for a side that will be in Europe and likely competing for another European qualification in the Premier League next season.
1. Aston Villa
Villa likely can't guarantee Jesus regular starts, which could be a problem, but Unai Emery would likely find plenty of use for the Brazilian, even with Ollie Watkins and Tammy Abraham at the club.
Whether it's elsewhere on the front line or coming in for certain games, Jesus could be an asset for Villa and get more Champions League football along the way. The price would be less football compared to the previous option, but that is the choice Jesus is going to have to make this summer. Does he join a top club and still struggle to play regularly or joining a lesser club but being a regular.
