2. Arsenal need a winger

Do not let the novelty of owning multiple, top-class strikers draw your attention away from the bigger picture – Arsenal desperately need a new winger.
If Reiss Nelson departs, then Arsenal will have just three players for two positions: Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard for the left wing (both arguably better used in the middle) and only Bukayo Saka for the right – that has effectively been the situation for some time now.
Arteta has tried to solve the issue before; deals for Raphinha and Mykhailo Mudryk fell through for different reasons, Nico Williams decided to stay at Athletic Bilbao last year and Bryan Mbeumo has declared preference for Manchester United.
In terms of both quality and numbers, getting a wide player this summer is imperative and it renders the double-striker notion nonsensical.
Buying Sesko and Gyokeres requires a massive outlay that would give us an embarrassment of riches up top without addressing the other major weakness in this team, with neither man being capable of performing out wide.
That shortcoming would then move the current striker debate to the wings and leave us with little money to fix it, with such a glaring problem – caused by a needless stockpiling of strikers – likely to pose a huge risk to our trophy ambitions.
