Arsenal began life without Gabriel Magalhaes in their draw with Everton with Jakub Kiwior coming into the side in his place.

Despite facing criticism ahead of the game, the Poland international put in a solid defensive performance at Goodison Park. He made a good block that denied the Toffees a chance at goal and three clearances, as well as playing a number of good passes that started attacking moves.

Okay, the difference between Everton's attackers and those of Real Madrid is substantial but that doesn't mean Kiwior shouldn't start on Tuesday. He showed with his performance on Merseyside that he is more than capable of coming into the side and that warrants him another opportunity in the starting XI against Madrid.
