Arsenal travel to Newcastle on Wednesday night as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

The Gunners fell at home to the Magpies in the first leg with Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon both getting on the scoresheet. While it does look like tonight's game will very much be an uphill battle, Mikel Arteta's side will be spurred on by their latest result. They thrashed Manchester City 5-1 on Sunday afternoon so if a big win over the champions doesn't get the players' hopes up, I don't know what will!

With their chances of silverware continuing to fade, Arsenal are in serious need of a win over Newcastle. There are three key talking points ahead of tonight's massive second leg clash at St James' Park.

1. Comeback not out the question

Newcastle's 2-0 advantage is a major one and their fans will be confident they can see it out to reach the final of the Carabao Cup. However, an Arsenal comeback must not be ruled out.

The Gunners have showed with some of their results this season that they are up for the fight and will not give up until it's over. That will certainly be the case once again tonight.

Since the first leg, Arsenal have won five of the seven games they have played, while Newcastle have been victorious in three of five (one of which was against League Two side Bromley). The Gunners will be the far more confident side going into this one while their hosts have looked shaky in recent games. They've lost their previous two games at St James' Park, to Bournemouth and Fulham respectively, so it may not be the fortress Gooners believe it is.
