Arsenal travel to Preston in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup this evening as they look to capitalise on a great chance to progress to the next stage.

The Gunners reached this point of the competition thanks to a brilliant 5-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in the third round. Mikel Arteta's side were not as lucky in their last outing, however, drawing 2-2 with title rivals Liverpool.

Facing off against a weaker opponent, the Gunners will be expected to win against Preston and there are three key talking points ahead of this cup clash.

1. Great chance to progress

Arsenal were handed one of the better ties for the fourth round as they were matched up with one of the three non-Premier League teams that were in the draw. As a result, this is a very favourable game that the Gunners will be expected to come out of victorious.

The Gunners should now be taking domestic cup competitions much more seriously and their trip to a Preston side that have had a mixed start to the season presents a great chance to progress into the quarter-finals.

While they must ensure not to be complacent, the Gunners will be expected to win tonight against an inferior opponent and there should be no room for excuses. This is no doubt a great chance for Arsenal to progress in the Carabao Cup.
