Arsenal's transfer business is not yet complete. It remains to be seen whether they'll add any new additions this transfer deadline day, but one thing's for sure: Some players still need to leave.
Heading into this transfer window, it was expected that Arsenal would use this time to clear out their squad and make way for new signings. So far, they've made new signings, but haven't completed their summer clear-out.
As it stands, Arsenal has officially parted ways with seven players from last season: Karl Hein, Jorginho, Thomas Partey, Marquinhos, Nuno Tavares, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
None of those names surprised any Arsenal fan, but the fact that it's only seven is somewhat surprising.
So, which players could be shown the Arsenal exit door on deadline day?
3 Arsenal players who will leave on transfer deadline day
1. Reiss Nelson
Reiss Nelson is currently expected to leave Arsenal and sign for Brentford. It will only be on loan, after he spent last season on loan at Fulham.
Reiss Nelson has never really made it at Arsenal. He's been an important players at times, but he's never been a staplepiece in the first team. If anything, this loan deal feels like Arsenal is just prolonging the inevitable, which involves him permanently leaving Arsenal.
If Nelson was going to make it and not just be a moments player, that would have happened by now.
2. Jakub Kiwior
Jakub Kiwior is on his way to Porto. The Polish international is making way, as Arsenal prepares to sign Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen in his place. From fans' perspectives, this is a monumental upgrade, and great business from the club.
And that's meant as no disrespect to Kiwior. He was signed without much expectation and, if anything, he outperformed his expectations. He was a solid option to have from the back, but he never really moved the needle to become a first team staple.
Now, he'll get some proper game time for a well respected club.
3. Fabio Vieira
Fabio Vieira's Arsenal nightmare is bound to come to an end today, as the Portugal international is expected to leave the club. He will be leaving to join Hamburg on loan.
Vieira never had it easy at Arsenal. If we're being completely frank, he was never the right build to play in the Premier League and his incredible technical ability was pushed to one side because he couldn't keep up with the physical demands of the league.
4. Albert Sambi Lokonga
It's quite satisfying for Arsenal fans that Vieira will at least be joined by Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Still, fans would be forgiven for forgetting Lokonga still played for Arsenal. Well, that might not be no longer, as Hamburg is also in the final day of signing Lokonga on a permanent deal.
