Arsenal just beat Liverpool away from home! That's it, that's the story. The Gunners successfully ended their 14-year wait to win at Anfield.

The Gunners started the game on the front foot, bringing their usual setup and patient approach to Liverpool. Kai Havertz opened the scoring for the Gunners, as he so often does in big games, assisted by Declan Rice.

However, for most of the first half, the tale was different. Arsenal were penned back by Liverpool, with the home team whipping in cross after cross.

Lo and behold, the game finished Liverpool 0-1 Arsenal. As always, here are Arsenal's winners and losers.

Winner #1 - Kai Havertz

Take nothing away from him, Kai Havertz always delivers on the big stage.

Frustration will always remain with Havertz, but hey, Arsenal fans would sooner prefer moaning at Havertz for not showing up in small games than big games. Against the big six and in Champions League finals, you turn to Havertz. That's the biggest compliment a player can get.

Peeling into space at the back post, Havertz opened the scoring. In doing so, he became the all-time top German goal scorer in Premier League history, taking the record away from Ilkay Gundogan.

Loser #1 - Bruno Guimaraes

Unfortunately, Bruno Guimaraes and Declan Rice in the midfield do not work together. We've tried time and time again, but it's about time the experiment ended.

Guimaraes was clearly passionate, and it wasn't through a lack of trying, but Arsenal looked like a better team when he came off.

The Brazilian has his place in the team, but if today's performance and the one against Brighton are anything to go by, he is much better facing teams who set up defensively rather than teams who come at Arsenal.

Winner #2 - Declan Rice

Declan Rice provided the assist for Havertz's opener, but that was far from his biggest involvement. He was here, there and everywhere.

Arsenal won the midfield battle throughout the game, and as expected, Rice was key to that. It was a breath of fresh air to see him win his race against time to be fit and available for selection today. He was always bound to be the difference maker for the Gunners.

Loser #2 - Riccardo Calafiori

Riccardo Calafiori seemed to lose his composure towards the end of the game, and it felt like Liverpool players sensed that and switched to his side, rather than Timber's.

Calafiori is a net positive for Arsenal in the final third, but this wasn't the kind of game where he was free to do that. When he was dribbled at, Calafiori was exposed on a few occasions.

An off performance for a player who has otherwise been superb this season.

Winner #3 - Myles Lewis-Skelly

Despite only playing half an hour, Myles Lewis-Skelly's introduction to the team came at the right moment. The midfield balance was swinging out of Arsenal's control, and by introducing Lewis-Skelly, the Gunners looked much sharper in the centre of the park.

And that's exactly what Lewis-Skelly does. He is one of the most composed players at Arsenal, and it was a game that was desperate for his calmness.

Winner #4 - Christos Tzolis

To get over 80 minutes on the pitch despite being out injured for so long is a win in itself, but Christos Tzolis didn't waste those minutes.

Tzolis was electric, and he's who Arsenal turned to a lot on the counter attack. He is one of Arsenal's most direct players, so in a game where Arsenal fans were looking for someone to drive forward with the ball, it was Tzolis who reaped the most rewards there.

With six touches in Liverpool's box, no Arsenal player had more.

Winner #5 - Noni Madueke

It has become quite popular online to mock Noni Madueke, but it's important to give credit where credit is due.

Madueke was proactive for Arsenal on the right wing today. His defending wasn't amazing, but his attacking prowess spoke for itself. He created three chances (more than any player on the pitch) and played one successful cross. Arsenal weren't the most attacking today, but when they were, they could rely on Madueke's end product - which is not something you hear too often.
