Arsenal's new sporting director Andrea Berta is preparing an ambitious overhaul of Arsenal's attack this summer, with two potentially game-changing signings lined up.
The Gunners could yet end 2024/25 as the champions of Europe, but we've got to prepare for the possibility of ending another campaign without silverware. Mikel Arteta's men must overturn a 1-0 deficit in Paris on Wednesday to reach the final, where Barcelona or Inter await.
The focus on our Champions League journey has turned attention away from what's poised to be a hugely important summer after the club struggled to compete with Liverpool for the Premier League title.
There were multiple factors at play in Arsenal's underwhelming domestic season, including injuries and harsh officiating, but the Gunners have also dropped far too many points in games due to sub-par work in the final third. Many believe that an upgrade in personnel up top would alleviate their woes.
Viktor Gyokeres and Ademola Lookman on Arsenal's summer transfer shortlist
🚨👀 Andrea #Berta is pushing to sign Viktor #Gyökeres for Arsenal. Several talks have already taken place. Alexander Isak remains high on the Gunners’ list, as previously revealed — but he’s very expensive.

Arsenal appointed Berta as Edu Gaspar's successor back in March, and the new man at the helm has quickly gone to work ahead of a busy summer.
There's talk of the Kroenkes unloading the war chest for Arteta, and Berta is lining up a pair of lucrative additions who could prove to be game-changing in attack.
The director's interest in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres was reported soon after his appointment was confirmed, and it looks like the Swedish hitman is Arsenal's number-one striker target for the summer. Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg writes that several talks have taken place between Berta and the player's entourage, with Arsenal thought to be leading a hotly competitive race,
Gyokeres can leave Sporting off the back of another productive season for a reported €60–70m after he reached a verbal agreement with the Portuguese club.
In addition to a centre-forward, Arsenal will also make a significant move out wide. Nico Williams and Rafael Leao are among the names linked with a move, and Plettenberg recently mentioned an alternative.
🚨🔴 Arsenal have added Ademola #Lookman to their shortlist for the summer. More teams are keen on him.

The plan hasn’t changed: Lookman is planning to take the next step this summer. Premier League is possible.

Ademola Lookman has been in spectacular form for Atalanta over the past couple of years, and the German reporter understands that Arsenal have added the Nigerian winger to their summer shortlist.
The 27-year-old is keen to move on at the end of the season, and a return to the Premier League is said to be on the player's agenda. After scoring a memorable hat-trick in last season's Europa League final, Lookman has recorded 18 goal contributions in 28 Serie A appearances and scored five times in seven Champions League outings.
Given how his previous Premier League stints played out, Lookman must be determined to make a name for himself on English shores.
