Arsenal are 'attentive' to the situation of RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons, according to multiple reports.
Fabrizio Romano revealed the Gunners are monitoring the Netherlands international, having enquired about the possibility of a move earlier in the summer.
Simons is keen to leave Leipzig during the transfer window and is said to favour a move to the Premier League. Chelsea are also reported to be interested in the player so Arsenal will have competition if they pursue a deal.

Arsenal have held interest in a number of versatile attackers over the course of the summer with Eberechi Eze reported to be a primary target and has now been joined by Simons on the club's list of options.
Noni Madueke has just completed a move to the Gunners, but Mikel Arteta is still in search of another addition in attack, alongside the impending arrival of Viktor Gyokeres.
Ben Jacobs revealed that it would be a case of signing one of Eze or Simons, not both, if Arsenal don't at least sanction a significant outgoing. It's currently unclear if Crystal Palace would agree a deal outside the Englishman's release clause while Leipzig are likely to consider an offer of €65million plus add-ons to be a realistic ballpark.
With both players valued at similar prices, that could prompt the Gunners to really question who they make a move for. Eze has experience playing in the Premier League while Simons is younger and has appeared in the Bundesliga, Eredivisie, Ligue 1 and Champions League.
Considering their heavy spending already this summer, it is likely Arsenal would need to sell someone for a decent fee if they hope to bring either Eze or Simons in. However, it is great to know they have the Dutchman on their radar as somewhat of an alternative to the Palace star.
